I've been in the information business for more than 8 years now. I started by teaching entrepreneurs about spirituality, then I taught marketing to coaches and authors, and then that led me to creating Simplero, a leading software platform for information marketing.
In other words, I've seen a thing or two over the years.
And there are two things that really bother me about the industry that I wanted to address with this book.
I know from personal experience and from the hundreds of other information marketers I've been in close contact with, that it's not always easy. It takes courage and dedication. It takes commitment. It takes work. It takes a willingness to challenge yourself, feel, and have an open mind and heart.
It's easy to turn this process into a struggle. Don't. If you know what to expect, if you know you're not alone, if you know it's not always going to be "fun" or "easy", if you know how to deal with all the stuff that comes up, it can be an amazing and rewarding process. Challenge, yes. Struggle, nope.
And if you do find yourself frustrated, angry, sad, confused, scared ... know that you're not alone. We've all been there. It'll get better.
Starting something new is scary and confusing. There's so much you don't know. You're insecure. You're scared of actually doing the work. And along comes someone saying "you need to use linkedin groups!" or "you need to scrub your lists!" or "you need the facebook ads" or "you need an upsell chain". And because we don't know any better, and we're scared and confused, we buy it.
I'm here to tell you, you don't need all that stuff. Focus on the basics, the timeless parts, and the inner work, and you will succeed wildly. Don't let them steer you off course.
